Whether you or your students are beginners or experienced, my workshops focus on creative exploration, storytelling through fabric, and hands-on learning. I teach across the U.S. and internationally to share my love of art quilting.
WORKSHOPS & CLASSES
LANDSCAPE WORKSHOP
During this three-day workshop, you’ll learn how to make a pattern, construct a wooden building, and build a beautiful landscape while working from your own photograph.
IMPROVISATIONAL QUILTING
This class is a great introduction to art quilting. There’s no pattern to follow and few rules. This is a great chance to use some of your fabric scraps (or buy some new ones) and make a stunning quilt. Learn to let go and use your imagination.
QUILTED SYMPHONY CLASS
In this class we’ll learn how to make an art quilt using maching applique and foundation piecing. We’ll work from your choice of four patterns in the book Quilted Symphony.
MOONDANCE
In this one-day class you’ll learn how to make perfect curves with no pins and no special sewing machine feet. Twenty fat quarters of light and dark fabrics make a beautiful twin size quilt. Batiks work best since they don’t fray. This quilt requires the 7″ Crazy Curves Template and 3 1/2″ Small Paths Template from BACKPORCH Design.
JESTER’S CHOICE QUILT CLASS
This two-day class is made using the “Jester’s Choice” pattern from Quilted Treasurers and requires Studio 180 Designs’ Corner Pop and V Block rulers.
SEA SALT QUILT
This one-day class uses the pattern “Sea Salt” by Tammy Silvers to make a 53”x65” lap quilt. The Creative Grids 90-degree quarter-square triangle ruler is also required.
SANTA GNOMES QUILT
This fun quilt was designed by Missouri Star Quilt Company. In this class we’ll use (20) “layer cake” 10 inch blocks plus your choice of background and border fabrics. I’ll supply the beards!
TERRAIN QUILT
This one-day class is another opportunity to use your imagination, with no pattern or rules. Use fabric scraps or buy some new ones and make a stunning quilt.
MACHINE BINDING CLASS
Join Carol for a class covering all things machine binding! She will walk you through the techniques of machine binding. All you need is your sewing machine and some sewing supplies.
